The Alexandria School Board signed off on the academic calendar for the next school year beginning in September. Of the two options on the table, the Board chose the calendar recommended by senior administrators and includes two fewer half-days at the end of the school year for elementary and middle schools. The first day for traditional-calendar schools is September 7 and the last day of school is June 21.
