Not a moment too soon, the Alexandria Little League season officially got underway Saturday at Little Simpson Field with the league-wide opening day festivities. The teams took turns trotting onto the diamond from the outfield fence before singing the national anthem and watching Mayor Bill Euille throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

So far, Lindsay Cadillac sits atop the Little Majors league with a 3-0 record. A three-way tie exists for first place in the AAA Division and a two-way bottleneck exists at the top of the AA Division standings.
