Robin D. Roane has joined the Alexandria Convention and Visitors Association as the new senior sales manager, the tourism organization announced last week.

An Alexandria resident for three years, Roane will concentrate on association and corporate markets.

Roane most recently worked as membership director for the National Business Travel Association in Alexandria, where she attained and retained a membership of more than 3,000 Fortune 1,000 companies. Prior to her time there, Roane spent 18 years with Marriott International, Inc.

With her wealth of experience in the industry and her passion for Alexandria, Robin is a major asset, said Lorraine Lloyd, ACVAs vice president of sales. She will elevate the level of expertise for our sales team, and we look forward to her having an immediate positive impact.
