Alexandria advertising agency Williams Whittle has been hired to reawaken the public to the charms and opportunities of living at Saint Charles, a new town originally established in 1968.

The 9,100-acre Charles County, Md. planned community, acquired last year by Federal Capital Partners, is now half-completed with more than 40,000 residents.

When completed it will embrace the concept of a model green city, according to its new owners.

Saint Charles has been out of the limelight for a long time. Lots of consumers arent aware of its existence. We intend to reawaken them, said Rob Whittle, president and CEO of the 43-year-old advertising agency, which plans to launch a lifestyle-oriented advertising campaign featuring the tagline, A Place Whose Time Has Come.

Williams Whittles primary objective will be to raise the profile of Saint Charles to the general public beyond Charles County, according to Saint Charles CEO and FCP Managing Director Alan Shearer.
