Patrician steps down from Volunteer Alexandria

Volunteer Alexandria, a nonprofit organization that connects volunteers with the Alexandria community, will undergo a transition period following Executive Director Melinda Patricians announcement this week that she will step down.

In June, the organizations board appointed a transition board to engage in a broad review of the organizations structure, Patrician said.

Much of Volunteer Alexandrias small staff has also moved on to new positions, and an interim director will take over for the time being.

I have loved the four years I have spent as executive director of Volunteer Alexandria and am very proud of the work we have done, Patrician said. Im confident that Volunteer Alexandria will continue to provide valuable service to Alexandrians.
