Its back to the books for school officials as members of the board head to their annual retreat at the George Washington Middle School this weekend.
On Saturday, the board will delve into the Alexandria City Public Schools strategic vision, including the T.C. Williams High School transformation plan, said Yvonne Folkerts, chairwoman.
Officials also will take a look at the results of the school systems middle school reform, special education and the districts new individual achievement plans for students. A second session on Sunday will focus more on the board as a committee, Folkerts said.
The retreat will be held on Saturday, August 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 29 from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. Both sessions will be open to the public.
