Members of city council on Tuesday flaunted awards receivedearlier this month at the Virginia Municipal League meeting in Hampton, Va.

Mayor Bill Euille showed off a bronze Virginia-shaped trophy the Presidents Award for outstanding and innovative development of TheStation at Potomac Yard. The structure on Jefferson Davis Highway is acombination firehouse-workforce housing-retail development.

As we all know this was a unique opportunity for usaltogether and this is just another feather in our cap, Euille said.

Councilman Frank Fannon announced Alexandrias PlatinumCertificate from the Municipal Leagues Green Government Challenge. The awardwas for successfully taking practical actions to reduce carbon emissions,Fannon said.
