Mayor Bill Euille limped back to the city council’s dais on crutches Tuesday after having knee surgery following a serious fall at Braddock Road Metro station earlier this month.
It will be five to six weeks before Euille makes a full recovery, he said after thanking people in the city who reached out and demonstrated how much a caring community this is.
Euille said he will stick to legislative meetings and work sessions until he makes a full recovery, beginning with Tuesdays city council meeting.
The kissing babies, ribbon cuttings and social events are still on hold for now, but well work back into those, Euille said.
