Alexandrias thin blue line will crack down on drunk driving this weekend, conducting roaming DWI enforcement from Saturday night until Sunday morning.
Officers will be out in force from 8:30 p.m. until 6:30 a.m., city officials said Friday. The measure is meant to deter and arrest intoxicated or drug impaired motorists, according to a city release.
The maximum penalty for a first DWI offense in Virginia is 12 months jail time, a $2,500 fine and a year-long license suspension.
