An early morning New Years Day confrontation on the 5700 block of Exeter Court ended with threats of violence, police say. 
    
A group of young males allegedly harassed a brother and sister about 2:27 a.m., targeting the unidentified woman with derogatory remarks, authorities said. When her brother told them to stop, they grew violent, said department spokesman Jody Donaldson.
    
[H]e told them to stop and they turned on him and threatened to hurt him and attempted to provoke a fight by throwing punches at him, Donaldson said. 
    
The victims did not know their assailants, according to authorities. They fled to a nearby relatives home and called police.
    
The suspects, still at large, then fled the scene on foot. Authorities do not have further descriptions of the group.
