Police say a FedEx deliveryman contacted authorities after an unidentified man tried to intercept a package intended for another resident of a 300 block South Whiting apartment building.
    
The deliveryman became suspicious after the man who agreed to sign for the package couldnt identify the recipient. He refused to turn over the package and instead contacted police about 7:37 p.m., December 27. 
    
Authorities have not released a description of the suspect.
