An unidentified man escaped a group of men demanding money with only a laceration to his side to show for the mid-afternoon scuffle, police say.
    
The victim was walking down the 3500 block of Mount Vernon Ave. when four men approached him and asked for his cash about 2:31 p.m., February 11. Though they began assaulting the man, he escaped and the suspects fled, police said.
    
The victim, drunk at the time, suffered non life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
