Authorities say a man made off with a carton of cigarettes after snatching them from the counter of a Kenmore Avenue convenience store late last month.

The suspect, described as Hispanic with dark hair and a ponytail, asked a store clerk for the cigarettes about 11:04 p.m., January 31. When the employee placed the carton on the counter of the 4600 block store, the man snatched it and ran out, police said. 

He got into a light colored car and fled, according to authorities. The theft remains under investigation.
