The Bishop Ireton girls varsity basketball team capped off a disappointing season with a 66-44 loss to Flint Hill in the second round of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association state tournament.

Despite 51-33 victory over backyard rival Episcopal to jump-start their postseason campaign, the Cardinals couldnt keep up with the Flint Hill Huskies in the tournament quarterfinals last week.

The Cardinals struggled throughout the regular season, dropping a December matchup with the Huskies, 65-36. The playoff win against Episcopal on March 1 was the Cardinals first victory since January.
