Senior St. Stephens and St. Agnes swim team co-captain Conor MacNair gave a championship worthy effort at the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association state meet, netting the 100-meter breast title.
MacNair earned the top spot in his event in time to see the Saints boys team clinch fifth place, the highest theyve ever gone in the annual statewide tournament.
MacNair joined junior Ferrel Atkins, freshman Kyle Draim and fellow senior Cabell Perrot for a fourth place finish in the boys relay. Not content to just win a state championship, MacNair also broke the schools record with a time of 1:56 in the consolation heat.
