Alexandria looks to lure National Science Foundation headquarters


Its been over a decade since the federal Patent and Trademark Office moved to Alexandria, and now city officials want to lure an even more enticing tenant to the Port City the National Science Foundation.

The NSFs lease at an Arlington building expires in 2015, and the federal agency is looking to secure their new home by the end of the year, officials said. 

Were going to pursue them and were going to pursue them aggressively, said Vice Mayor Kerry Donley who, when mayor, was instrumental in bringing the PTO to Alexandria in the 1990s.
