Police are searching for a pickpocket wanted in connection with a roughly two-year string of crimes from Maryland to Virginia.

Authorities say the suspect lifts wallets from shoppers purses and immediately uses the stolen credit cards to ring up purchases at department stores, clothing stores and restaurants. He may work with an accomplice to distract his victims, police said. 
    
Officials describe the suspect as a well-groomed black man, 35 to 45-years-old, around 5-foot-9, with a medium build and full beard. Police say hes behind thefts in Alexandria and Loudoun, Fairfax, Montgomery and Charles counties.
