A man arrested on South Reynolds Street faces a felony charge after allegedly kicking a police officer responding to complaints the suspect was drunk in public on June 20.
The officer was uninjured in the 5:56 p.m. attack, said Ashley Hildebrandt, department spokeswoman. Officers found the man on the street, she said.
Police do not know what the man was drinking and did not release his identity. Authorities charged him with one count of felonious assault on police and public drunkenness.
