Fans of dearly departed King Street restaurant Caf Salsa may find solace in its Miami fusion replacement, Agua Viva.

Due to poor business, owners Mike Codero and Mariano Claudio began recreating the property about six months ago. Agua Viva celebrated its grand opening June 24 and has since received high praises from customers, said manager Nelson Chavez.

Were trying to bring a bit of South Beach, Miami, to conservative Old Town, Alexandria, Chavez said.

Changes include a blue-and-orange color scheme, an updated Latin cuisine menu, an upstairs bar and lounge serving an assortment of tropical beverages, one of the latest happy hours around and an expanded music list for dancing Friday and Saturday nights.
