


St. Stephens and St. Agnes rising senior Brent Armstrong is headed to the international stage as one of just five high school students selected for the U.S. Mens Lacrosse National Under-19 team.
Armstrong will join 22 of the top lacrosse players in his age group from across the country in Finland for the 2012 Federation of International Lacrosse U19 Mens World Championships.
After four days of tryouts earlier this month, he was chosen by a selection committee comprised of 20 coaches from 15 states out of 123 candidates nationwide, according to officials. When the team arrives in Turku, Finland, theyll be playing for their seventh consecutive world championship and 37th international victory.
The midfielder already has committed to play for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after graduation.
