The Alexandria Soccer Association hired Thomas Parks, a veteran of the pitch, as the organizations executive director, tasking him with overseeing the travel and recreation programs.
Youth soccer in the U.S. is progressing so rapidly that ASA needs to be at the forefront of new training approaches and initiatives, Parks said in a statement. ASA has access to exceptional facilities, qualified coaches and dedicated parents that will be crucial in implementing and executing these new initiatives for players of all ages and ability.
Before joining the ASA, Parks played for the D.C. United U19 Academy team while earning a degree in business administration from the University of Mary Washington. He also took the field with the Fredericksburg Generals, a professional indoor squad.
For the past four years, Parks taught accounting, economics and finance at DeMatha High School, coaching their nationally ranked varsity soccer team on the side.
