Two individuals face a slew of charges in connection with a spate of nighttime gunfire that rattled Del Ray earlier this month.
A juvenile was charged with two counts of attempted felonious assault, two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
City police also charged Andy Melendez, 18, of Alexandria, with two counts of attempted malicious wounding following the incident.
Police converged on the intersection of Mount Vernon Avenue and Kennedy Street which straddles the line between Del Ray and Arlandria-Chirilalgua after gunshots rang out about 8:30 p.m. August 3.
Few details about the lead up to the incident have been released, but department spokeswoman Ashley Hildebrandt said two friends began arguing near the intersection when one of them opened fire with an unspecified firearm.
No one was injured, officials said. City detectives led the investigation, according to Hildebrandt.
