Alexandrians are preparing their palates for the return of Alexandrias Restaurant Week. The goal? Chefs get to showcase their skill and creativity, foodies feast and restaurants reap in a welcome economic boost.
This summers edition features 62 restaurants offering a $35 three-course meal or a $35 dinner for two from August 19 to 28.
Organizers from the Convention and Visitors Association hope this 10-day event will continue to put Alexandria on the map as a culinary destination, given its success since its launch in 2009.
We did 260 more covers than the same week last year. The price point worked well for us and the marketing apparently did the trick, said owner of Monroes, an American restaurant that participated in the event last year.
Restaurants range from fine dining to casual at locations all around the city. More than two-dozen participating restaurants offer outdoor seating for guests to enjoy summer weather while they dine.
