Alexandria police say vehicles shot and damaged by BB guns on Commonwealth Avenue and North Gordon Street in two separate incidents Friday and Saturday are unrelated.

The owner of a vehicle parked on the 100 block of N. Gordon St. reported vandals had damaged his drivers side door window and quarter panel with shots from a BB gun about 1:15 p.m. August 5, according to police reports. Police believe the suspects struck sometime after midnight.

A day later the owner of a vehicle parked on the 2300 block of Commonwealth Ave. told authorities vandals had shot out her passenger side window with either a BB gun or pellet gun while it was parked on the street overnight.

Authorities did not release the make and model of either vehicle, nor the cost of the damages.

There were no witnesses to either incident, said department spokeswoman Ashley Hildebrandt. Police do not have descriptions of the suspects and no arrests have yet been made, she said.
