The Alexandria-based Outdoor Power Equipment Institute tapped Kris Kiser as the organizations new president and CEO late last month.

Kiser, an attorney and former congressional aide, previously served as the South Patrick Street trade associations executive vice president and chief operating officer. He replaces retiring president and CEO Bill Harley.

I leave with great pride in our collective accomplishments and the certainty that my successor, Kris Kiser, will not only build on those accomplishments, but also lead the organization to new heights, Harley said in a statement.

He now will head an organization representing businesses across the globe in the engine, utility vehicle, forestry, landscape, lawn and garden equipment manufacturing industry.
