Thieves stole an unlocked vehicle from the 3600 block of Eisenhower Ave. only to return it within the hour after doing considerable damage to the body earlier this month, city police say.
The vehicle was left with the keys inside of it when the suspects, described as four men, made off with it about 9 p.m. September 2, said Ashley Hildebrandt, department spokeswoman. They dropped it off less than an hour later not far from where it was originally stolen, she said.
While authorities dont have an estimate for the repair work, the vehicle suffered front and rear end damaged. The incident remains under investigation.
