Authorities say a man made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after walking into the 3610 King St. SunTrust Bank and demanding money Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect, described as a thinly built black man about 45-years-old, entered the bank about 12:30 p.m., police say. Tellers complied with his demands and the suspect, about 5-feet-10-inches, fled the scene on foot.
No one was injured, police said. They did not release the amount of cash stolen.
At the time of the robbery, the suspect wore a red, hooded jacket, khaki pants, black boots and a dark-colored rain cap.
The heist remains under investigation and authorities are urging anyone with information about the robbery to contact Det. William Oakley at 703-838-4314 or the Crime Solvers tip line at 703-838-4858.
