The Episcopal Maroon have begun the nascent basketball season on the right foot, with a narrow win against Germantown Academy on Saturday afternoon.
Though the Maroon left the Pennsylvania school with a victory tucked in their back pockets, it was anything but a sure thing. When the buzzer sounded, Episcopal had pulled ahead of Germantown by five points; just enough to secure a 59-54 win.
Episcopal, buoyed by veteran players Kethan Savage and Arnaud Adala-Moto, took on a more local rival Wednesday, after the Times’ deadline, facing W.T. Woodson.
The Maroon head into the annual Nike Invitational tournament at DeMatha on Saturday and Sunday.
