Five soon-to-be graduates of Bishop Ireton announced plans to take their athletic careers to the next level earlier this month.

Moses Webb, an integral member of the fall’s football squad, will continue battling on the gridiron with Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. Named the team’s most valuable player, Webb set the school’s single-season touchdown record with 16 trips to the end zone in 2011.

Teammate and long snapper Eddie D’Antuono will join the Virginia Tech Hokies as a preferred walk-on player. D’Antuono earned the Cardinal Award for his efforts this past season.

Anna Wissler, a 2011 soccer Cardinal Award winner and National Honor Society member, heads to Lafayette College of Easton, Pa. Teammate Katarina Guillou, named to the WCAC first team, has signed with the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

A third member of the girls soccer squad, Hannah Thomas, is headed to Charleston Southern University in South Carolina. Thomas was named to the WCAC second team this past season.
