The T.C. Williams Lady Titans are a step closer to winning a state title after upending West Potomac in the opening round of the Patriot District tournament.
T.C. had little trouble with West Potomac during the regular season, beating them twice by wide margins. The Lady Titans kept the good times rolling Tuesday, handing the Wolverines a 60-25 drubbing.
The girls squad faced Annandale on Wednesday night, after the Times’ deadline, in the district tournament semifinal round. But the first-round conference victory already guarantees the Titans a spot in the regional tournament.
