The endorsement rollout that began shortly after longtime Sen. Patsy Ticer announced her retirement has carried into June with Del. David Englin (D-45) officially backing Krupicka.

Whats less well known is his wifes connection to the Democratic candidate. Shayna Englins company, Englin Consulting, has been working for Krupickas campaign. When not in Richmond, David serves as a principal at the company, though he says he is not involved in the firms political campaign side.

The business relationship is no secret, he said Monday.

I have nothing to do for her work on the campaign, he said. Were separate people, and my endorsement came after sitting down with the candidates and thoughtfully considering who I wanted to endorse.

Ebbin, who has worked with Englin in the House, shrugged off the endorsement. Hes received support from state senators Chap Peterson and John Edwards, among other notable backers.

I hadnt thought about that much, he said of Englins endorsement. At this point Im really engaged in winning the endorsements of the voters.
