This is in response to an article about ACPS and advertising in schools, Times of March 5-11, page A1.
First, I believe in advertising. That is how I make my living.
But there is no place in our schools for ads.
We already spend more per pupil than any other system in the country.
Cut the needless and wasted spending. There is more than enough money requested in the budget.
Mr. Porter hopes the economy wont make ads necessary. ACPS has little impact on the economy. It has everything to do with spending. The responsibility is with ACPS and the city. Not the economy. Just say NO to waste and ads in school.
