Pizza chain Toppers Pizza will open its first Alexandria location this weekend.

The pizza restaurant will host its grand opening at its 3827 Mount Vernon Ave. location on Dec. 2. The location is part of a 22-unit deal a franchise group has signed on to open in Virginia and Maryland.

It’s also one of two Toppers locations the franchise group will open in Alexandria, with a second location opening at 6776 Richmond Highway in January.

During Toppers’ opening day, the first 50 customers in line will receive free food for an entire year. The opening day will also feature games, prizes and, naturally, pizza.

Toppers, which opened its first location in Wisconsin, has been in operation since 1993. It started franchising locations in 1997.
