An Alexandria Police Department officer was involved in a car accident Tuesday evening in North Old Town that resulted in his or her police car crashing into a building, the police department announced via social media.
The crash between the officer, who police didn’t name, and an unnamed driver took place at a building at the intersection of Henry and Princess streets. A photo posted by police indicates that the police car crashed into the brick building head-on.
The officer was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and medics treated the driver of the other car at the scene, according to police.
Police didn’t release details about what caused the crash.
