Charlie’s on the Avenue is opening today at the former Fireflies location at 1501 Mt. Vernon Ave. 

The restaurant will open for happy hour at 3 p.m. and will be showing the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Atlanta Falcons game starting at 8:20 p.m.

The restaurant also released its menu, which includes plenty of tailgate and comfort food, including brisket tacos, meatballs, chili, smoked chicken wings, a “2 Guys” burger and a meatball sub. 

Appetizers are priced between $4 and $9, salads are between $8 and $15 and sandwiches are between $7 to $12. 

Desserts, including lemon bars, cream soda floats, banana splits and a daily pie selection, are $5, while sides, including mac & cheese, tater tots, onion rings, french fries and spinach, are $4. 

The restaurant also offers a kids’ menu for $5, which comes with a side salad. 

The restaurant comes from Jeremy Barber and Justus Frank, who also own Live Oak Restaurant on Commonwealth Avenue.
