The Garden Club of Alexandria officially kicked off a renovation of the Ramsay House garden at the Alexandria Visitor Center on Oct. 24.
The renovation will bring a new garden design by Joan Honeyman of Jordan Honeyman Landscape Architecture to the Ramsay House garden, including an accessible garden entry and terrace, native and sustainable planting and seating. The new design will include a water fountain and a cell phone charging station.
The garden installation is being tackled by J and J Landscaping. Simpson Development
has donated its services as project manager for the garden renovation.
The renovation process started in October and the reopening of the Ramsay House garden is expected to arrive in spring 2019, just in time for Historic Garden Week’s house and garden tour
