Nicole Rosario-Flores, a junior ROTC cadet at T.C. Williams High School, was selected as Senator Tim Kaine’s guest for the Presidential State of the Union Address on Tuesday, according to Alexandria City Public Schools.
Kaine met Rosario-Flores after he spoke with JROTC cadets at the high school in January about escalating tensions with Iran. He was impressed enough to hand- pick her as his guest for President Donald Trump’s annual address to Congress, Kaine said in a news release.
“Having the opportunity to witness the way our government functions first hand will definitely be something that I will always remember,” Rosario-Flores said in a statement.
