The City of Alexandria, Alexandria Health Department, Inova Health System and Alexandria City Public Schools are holding an online information session to provide the community with information and answer questions regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus, according to a news release.
The session will take place on March 12 from 8 to 9 p.m. and can be accessed through www.alexandriava.gov/Health.
Cases of COVID-19, which was first detected and reported in Wuhan City, China, have since been identified in countries around the world, including Italy, Iran and the U.S. No cases have been confirmed in Virginia at this time.
Dr. Stephen A. Haering, director of the health department, Dr. Rina Bansal, president of Inova Alexandria, ACPS Superintendent Dr. Gregory Hutchings Ed.D. and City Manager Mark Jinks will appear on a panel and answer community questions.
Questions can be submitted in advance or asked live during the virtual session via social media and text message.
