First Lady of Virginia Pamela Northam and the Virginia Tourism Corporation recognized the City of Alexandria and Visit Alexandria for their response to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new release.

Visit Alexandria will be the recipient of a $10,000 WanderLove Recovery grant for its Great Walks Program, a marketing initiative that aims to guide residents and visitors to outdoor experiences, according to the release.

Northam acknowledged the city’s COVID-19 response initiatives, including the ALX Promise and Alexandria Back to Business Grant, which awarded $3.5 million in grants to more than 300 small businesses, according to the release.
