Sarah Rose, a nurse at Inova Alexandria Hospital, received a 2020 Nightingale Award on Sept. 11 from The Washington Post and American Nurses Association for her work, according to a news release.

The Nightingale Award rewards excellence in nursing throughout the D.C. metro area. Rose was one of thousands of nurses – and 18 Inova finalists – nominated for the award, according to the release.

Rose has worked in Inova Alexandria’s Unit 28, a critical care unit, since 2014. Off duty, Rose takes part in the American Heart Association Heart Walk and raises money for the Senior Day Care Center at St. Martin’s Adult Day Care, according to the release.
