As part of its food program, local nonprofit ALIVE! is used to receiving food donations, but one donor took things to the next level on Monday, donating a 40-foot long refrigerated truck to the organization, according to a news release.

AMX Leasing, an arm of Abilene Motor Express, donated the container after Marion Moon, CEO of Convention and Tradeshow Freight Specialists and a Living Legend of Alexandria, reached out to ALIVE!, according to the release.

The container will be housed at the headquarters of local environmental organization AlexRenew and will allow ALIVE! to respond better to the city’s increased demand for food that has occurred due to the pandemic. The organization’s monthly food distribution has in- creased five-fold since March, according to the release.
