The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria raised about $16,000 for scholarships during its annual Women’s Holiday Soiree, according to a news release.
The funds raised during the event will go directly toward college scholarships for Alexandria students in T.C. Williams High School’s class of 2021. Thanks to an unnamed Scholarship Fund donor, all gifts made to this fundraising campaign will be doubled, up to $5,000, according to the release. Donations can still be made at https://tinyurl.com/SFASoiree.
About 60 women participated in the virtual event this year, including Sugeivis Gomez, a 2017 T.C. Williams graduate who received a four-year scholarship to Georgetown University, according to the release.
