Last month, the Del Ray Business Association presented the 2020 Star Awards recognizing individuals who have provided extraordinary service to the Del Ray community. The 2020 winners were Jason and Loren Yates, owners of Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap; Mara Benner, owner of Four Directions Wellness; and Councilor Del Pepper, who is retiring from City Council after 30 years of service, according to the release.

The DRBA also announced its “I Love Del Ray” campaign in January to help Alexandrians safely support locally-owned small businesses, according to a news release. The campaign comes as local businesses in the DRBA need the support of their neighbors to help keep dollars local.

Now through April, the campaign will feature a variety of marketing and promotions. The current promotion, “Shop ‘til you drop,” will spotlight retail and at-home entrepreneurs and runs until Sunday, according to the release.
