Long–time Alexandria resident Bill Rossello announced Tuesday that he will run for City Council in the June 8 Democratic primary. A business owner and management consultant, Rossello has a long history of serving on city and community boards, including a number of years on Alexandria’s Budget and Fiscal Affairs Advisory Committee.

Rossello also has many years of experience consulting for local governments across the U.S. and Canada.

“I have worked on operational and budget solutions in police, fire, public works, public schools, and other municipal functions,” Rossello said in a press release.

Rossello is a first-time political candidate after 32 years of living in Alexandria. He said the city’s recent direction led him to run for office.

“I love our city and want to bring integrity and transparency back to our local government,” Rossell said in the release. “I also feel a strong need to protect our neighborhoods, infrastructure and environment from overdevelopment, traffic congestion and flooding.”
