Police arrested a man who is the suspect in a confirmed armed carjacking that occurred on Tuesday night, according to the Alexandria Police Department.

The incident occurred on Tuesday around 8:45 p.m. in the 500 block of Cameron Station Boulevard. The two victims in the vehicle did not sustain any injuries, according to a news release. A helicopter was called in to assist in the investigation, and police took the suspect into custody at 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday.
