Port City pet lovers have something to look forward to this Sunday: the 2021 Alexandria Love Your Pet Day Festival.

 

Taking place  from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in its new location at Oronoco Bay Park, this free event will feature fun for the entire family. This year’s festival includes musical acts, animal-focused vendors, a family fun activity tent and adoptable animals from rescues around the region as well as from the event organizer, the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

 

There will also be live music and performances, including children’s musical acts like the Rainbow Rock Band, which will perform at 11:30 a.m., and Uno Dos Tres Andrés, set to go on stage at 1:00 p.m. Magician Chris Michael will also bring some magical flair to the mainstage at 2:00 p.m. The full schedule of performances can be found at alexandrialoveyourpetday.com.

 

The event also features fun for adults as well, with a beer garden hosted by Port City Brewing Company, coffee by Ricks Roasters, and food from Rocklands Barbeque. Attendees are welcome to bring their own on-leash furry friends, who will have the chance to enjoy treats from a variety of local artisans and vendors.
