The organizers behind the Old Town Festival of Speed and Style, Alexandria’s annual classic car show, donated $20,000 to local charities this past weekend.
The board of directors donated $10,000 to both USO of Metro Washington Baltimore and ALIVE!. The festival organizers also provided both organizations with $3,000 last year in order to provide financial relief during the height of the pandemic.
Originally planned for 2020, the second annual festival was delayed three times due to the pandemic before it took place on Sept. 5, 2021. More than 100 rare cars and vintage motorcycles took to the lower blocks of King Street during the event, which attracted more than 10,000 people.
