Come Dec. 26, several COVID-19 testing sites will close their doors.
Curative, a private healthcare company, has chosen to discontinue all of its Alexandria kiosks as part of a decision to close all testing centers throughout the region before the end of the year, according to a news release.
Curative has performed nearly 195,000 COVID-19 tests since January 2021. But since at-home tests have become more widely available, demand for kiosk testing has dropped, according to the release.
However, several other places throughout the city will remain open for testing. Some of these include Alexandria libraries, scheduled appointments for public school students and faculty and three Neighborhood Health clinics, located at 2 E. Glebe Rd., 1200 N. Howard St. and 6677 Richmond Hwy.
