On April 3, the Alexandria Police Department released two Twitter notifications regarding a commercial robbery and a report of shots fired. Per an update to the APD’s feed at 11:52 a.m., there was a commercial robbery in the 400 block of John Carlyle St. At 9:42 p.m., the APD updated their Twitter feed with a report of a response to a call for shots fired near the intersections of Ascot Court and Sanger Avenue. No injuries were reported in connection with these incidents which do not appear to be related. Requests to the APD from the Times for updates were not answered at the time of publication.
