According to a release, the Alexandria Police Department arrested Alexandria resident Jo- van Saunders, 45, in relation to a shooting on June 20 in the 300 block of East Raymond Avenue. Saunders has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The 30-year-old fe- male victim was treated with non-life-threatening injuries af- ter sustaining a gunshot wound to the lower body.
